Human Development Through Nature Connection - Part 4 - Transformation

Historic Webinar Recording

In the last of our four-part series on Human Development Through Nature Connection, we will explore the transformation that occurs when a human being deeply connects with the natural world and faces the 'Wall of Grief'.

Several amazing things occur as our relationship and communications develop within the natural world.

First, we start to recognize that we are responsible for tending the ropes of connection that we have with the natural world. Second, we learn that the relationship with nature, like all relationships, is a two-way process. Third, we come to understand how to communicate with the beings of nature. Then, we begin to truly understand our responsibility we hold uniquely as human beings with the natural world. This activates our personal gifts that we bring to creation. Finally, we become the caretakers of this beautiful earth. We will also develop greater states of awareness and feel this more profoundly due to the nature of the connection process itself.

As with all awareness, it has a double edge. We come to witness the whole spectrum of life in all its beauties and challenges. This awareness leads us to find our grief and observe the destruction of nature at this time. We experience the blocks to embracing life fully in ourselves - and also where the larger society is not living in alignment with creation. We experience this pain and destruction viscerally through our relationships with nature. If left unhealed, this pain can slow or stop our ability to continue on the path of connection. We can hit what is termed 'The Wall of Grief.'

Through developing as a human being in concert with our relationships with the natural world, we must be willing to grow and transform from where we currently are. Lack of responsibility or stagnation in grief will block achieving our potential.

This is where ceremony becomes an essential part of the cycle of connection and transformation. Ceremony helps continue the developmental process toward more profound aspects of connection instead of getting stuck in the grief.
