Male Leadership Lessons from Ceremony

Growing into leadership as a male within the modern context holds many obstacles. Not being brought up in connected cultures, it can be challenging to find constructive role models to guide us. We must turn to other forms of guidance to grow into a more aligned version of the connected male leader.  

Historically, the external ceremonies of earth-based cultures provided a way for the men to grow into a complete person. It is understood that men require access to external processes that support them to purify, spiritually develop, and access their greatest potential.  The most efficacious processes to achieve this are external ceremonies.

The ceremonies which support men to become leaders are a classroom for life. Through the ceremonial initiation and process, adolescence men begin to access, internalize, and integrate these profound wisdoms and connections that inform our actions in the world. The ceremonies and the teachings they provide helps men develop into true human beings capable of holding leadership in support of life. 

Healthy Male Leadership needs to be deeply rooted in connectedness; otherwise, we risk a form of control that is all too present in the modern cultural dynamic. As with all things, if they are not in balance or connection, what they activate in this world can be destructive and not in coherence with life.
