Many ceremonies have distinct roles of leadership, specific to the male and female facilitators. There are many important lessons that these ceremonial roles provide. The lessons and wisdom found in the ceremonies are incredibly helpful for men, women, and non-binary individuals to become more effective leaders.
Holding and facilitating ceremonies in this day and age requires the leaders to navigate many modern complexities. Supporting the shift in consciousness for individuals seeking to heal and transform is only part of the job. Navigating the grief that surrounds identity, sexual orientation, and physical bodies is part of the leader's job. To effectively navigate these complex griefs, a leader must know themselves. Traditional ceremony is one of the most effective ways to know oneself.
Leadership in ceremony carries numerous responsibilities. One must have a certain type of authority to facilitate a ceremony. This is not the same authority that is claimed in today's world. The authority claimed in modern society is often about individuals' or systems' desire to take power over, influence upon, and is frequently self-proclaimed. It is based purely in the human-centric world and has little to no relationship to the spiritual forces that nurture life.
The older understanding of authority is that authority arises from the connectivity that is an embodied alignment to the spiritual world. In this webinar, we will explore the requirements and responsibilities of men and women in leadership in relation to ceremony.
