Supporting the Moon Time Ceremony

Historic Webinar Recording

The menstruation cycle is a natural part of most women's lives. In the modern context, it is seldom approached consciously with an awareness of the creative cycles of life, nature, or spirit.

"In many societies, menstruation is often
surrounded by stigma and misinformation, leading to
feelings of shame or embarrassment. In contrast, some
cultures celebrate this natural process, viewing it as
a rite of passage and an opportunity for reflection
and renewal. By acknowledging the experiences of
those transitioning from childhood to womanhood, we
can explore the diverse cultural rituals associated with
menstruation. This exploration allows society to gain a
deeper appreciation for the various ways different cultures
honor the menstrual cycle. Recognizing these practices
helps dismantle negative stereotypes and fosters a more
supportive environment for menstruating individuals."

Moon Time - Embracing the Cycle of Womanhood, Erica Thompson

It is understood through observing the patterns of creation that the Moon Time process is deeply rooted in the very gifts of life and how the female form holds that internally. Within the female body is an access point, a doorway between spiritual manifestation and this physical reality.

A woman's Moon Time affects not only the individual moving through this internal ceremony but also the greater community. Like any ceremony, its outcome relies upon the conscious intention and focus with which it is approached by both the individual and the community.

"Celebrating the first menstruation is a significant and
transformative moment in a young woman's life. It
marks the transition from childhood to adolescence and
signifies the beginning of her journey into womanhood.
This rite of passage holds deep cultural significance,
representing not only the biological changes occurring in
her body but also the emotional and psychological shifts
that accompany this new phase. Acknowledging this
milestone through celebration fosters a sense of pride and
belonging, empowering young individuals to embrace
their cycles with confidence and understanding."
